Just thought I'd lighten everyone's mood with a little friendly conversation between Mike and me earlier today regarding our team:
Me: You know they actually charged people $12 to watch the game last night in a movie theater?
Mike: They should at least give half back.
Me: Like an apology, we’re really sorry about this team. You know, there seems to be a growing trend that this team (I’m refusing to refer to them by name) plays terribly during the week then kicks it up on the weekend.
Mike: I was putting together an armoire for 3 hours last night. Sadly, it was a much better experience than watching the Mets game.
Here is my recap for last night's game.
"And the show has reached a new low."
Seriously...that's all I am going to write.
Me: I just had “Tessie” by Dropkick Murphys on my iTunes. I want that feeling. That feeling that every game is a big party. Although, there is one line that I think applies to us as well, “Don’t blame us if we ever doubtcha, you know we can’t live withoutcha.”
Mike: The Mets just need to start working ovetime...so maybe one of these days they'll be taking care of business.
Me: I can’t even listen to that song right now. I used to play it on repeat. It’s like a song that reminds you of an ex-girlfriend. You couldn’t get enough of it, but once they break your heart, the very thought of that song makes you cringe. I really need the old Mets back.
Mike: I didn't want to have to go here...but I think you need this.
Some day somebodys gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry?
Dont you know?
Dont you know things can change
Thingsll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Thingsll go your way
Hold on for one more day
Me: SAY GOODBYE!!!!!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well played, Mike, well played indeed.
That's all there is too it folks. Like Wilson Phillips (no, not our two catchers from the early 2000's) said, just hold on, things will go our way. Thank you Harold and Kumar for bringing that song back to life.
